Orlando, Florida, Sept. 15, 2023 – Ford employees across the United States participated in Global Caring Month, the company’s month-long community service initiative held every September.
The Orlando based Ford Team rallied together in partnership with Matthew’s Hope to procure and assemble the essentials for Matthew’s Hope. The activity focused on hygiene and meal kit preparation that will be supplied through the Orange County and Brevard County communities.
In preparation for Global Caring Month which takes place in September, Ford employees design, plan and coordinate community service projects that reflect the needs of the communities in which they live. Ford Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, provides grants to employee-identified participating nonprofit organizations to support the purchase of tools and supplies needed to complete the project. Past projects have included building homes or renovating schools, cleaning up parks, installing clean water systems, distributing fresh food and more. This year, Ford awarded more than $830,000USD to 85 employee-nominated nonprofits and non-governmental organizations in 31 countries worldwide through the annual initiative.
“Ford’s Global Caring Month provides employees meaningful ways to help strengthen communities and make a difference in people’s lives,” said Lindsey Sbarra, Ford Motor Company. Ford values the partnerships with all our community partners around the world. It is one of the bright spots in our employee’s journey to roll up our sleeves and dedicate time and effort to our communities.
“Matthew’s Hope would like to thank the Ford Employees for their donation of both time and money. It truly was an honor to be selected. We will be using the grant to help fill our Food Pantries. The Food Pantry at Matthew’s Hope provides our homeless guests basic food needs every Tuesday and Thursday” stated Scott Billue, Founder & CEO Matthew’s Hope Ministries.
Global Caring Month is a signature program of the Ford Volunteer Corps. Managed by Ford Fund, Ford Volunteer Corps is a global network of thousands of Ford employees and retirees who have logged over 1.7million volunteer hours across six continents since 2005.
